Space Internetworking Center (SPICE) was founded in Xanthi, Greece, on September 1st 2010. Its establishment and operation was funded by the European FP-7 Capacities "Research Potential" program [264226, FP7-REGPOT-2010-1]. Scientific and Project coordinator is Vassilis Tsaoussidis, Director of Internetworked Systems Lab and Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Democritus University of Thrace. SPICE has already defined a cooperation framework with European Space Agency, NASA and several universities and research institutes, including MIT, University of Cambridge, AALTO University, University College London and IMDEA Networks.
